Ron Wyden is demanding an investigation after finding out Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has secretly surveilled and collected records on 200 million American money transfers without obtaining a warrant for at least the last 12 years.

The Oregon Democratic senator's office first learned about the program last month, and Wyden claimed in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) inspector general that it was the first time Congress was made aware of the program's existence, the Wall Street Journal reported after reviewing the letter.

The DHS law-enforcement arm was collecting information on domestic and international transfers exceeding $500 to or from Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas – as well as money transfers of that amount going to or from Mexico from anywhere within the U.S.

'Given the many serious issues raised by this troubling program, I request that you investigate the program's origins, how the program operated, and whether the program was consistent with agency policy, statutory law, and the Constitution,' Senator Wyden wrote to DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari.

Until at least 2019, dozens of money transfer companies were voluntarily sharing transaction details with ICE.

Wyden asked Cuffari to probe whether Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was operating similar programs. He also demanded DHS ensure activities like this are subject to congressional oversight.

The previously undisclosed surveillance program dates back to at least 2010, according to Wyden's letter, and stems from when the Arizona attorney general's office started collecting data from Western Union following a money-laundering settlement with the financial services company. Under Zucker, CNN has recently been plagued by scandals, embarrassing headlines and struggles to attract an audience, leading critics to wonder if he would be shown the door once a planned merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery is finalized later this year. However, the sudden resignation before the potential deal was finalized sent shock waves across the media industry.

Zucker’s relationship was with CNN marketing chief Allison Gollust, who the now-former CNN boss has long been speculated to have a relationship with. Gollust will remain at CNN, according to Stelter.

Gollust was appointed as former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's communications director in 2012 before joining Zucker at CNN four months later. She became close to Zucker during a 15-year tenure at NBC before joining Cuomo administration and was once even floated as a candidate to eventually replace Zucker atop the liberal network.

There is no law in NYS requiring anyone to wear mask or be arrested; or for a store owner to pay a fine if someone enters a store witout a mask. Picente is playing the public as fools!

This is an overreach of Picente and Hochul, who I keep warning everyone about. She is not who she pretends to be as you will soon find out.

The order she is calling a mandate is based on an "Order" from the Acting Health Commissioner, Mary T. Bassett, MD, MPH, whose appointment was effective as of December 1, 2021:

"From 2014 through summer 2018, she served as commissioner of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene..."

The above should tell you everything you want to know...

It's almost like she was appointed just in time to make the sheeple run out to get a vaccine so they could spend time with "Grandma".

Here is a copy of the Commissioner’s Determination on Indoor Masking Pursuant to 10 NYCRR 2.60 - December 10, 2021 that Hochul is basing her unwritten; unsigned "mandate" on.

Picente also claimed this morning that he had a mandate prior to Hochul's mandate.

What Picente had was an Order dated December 9, 2021, but I couldn't find a legal notice in the Observer Dispatch informing the public of his "mandate" which I believe is required for actual mandates.

Picente seemed sort of angry this morning at being questioned. Are you kidding me!!!

Picente is asking Oneida County residents to be the guinea pigs for Big Pharma and HE is angry!!!

I want to know what he is hiding. How does a disease go from being acute to endemic? What factors shape the transition to endemicity?

The expectation that COVID-19 will become endemic essentially means that the pandemic will not end with the virus disappearing; instead, the optimistic view is that enough people will gain immune protection from vaccination and from natural infection such that there will be less transmission and much less COVID-19-related hospitalization and death, even as the virus continues to circulate.

What’s a likely timeline for COVID-19 to become endemic?

The expected continued circulation of SARS-CoV-2 stands in contrast with the first round of SARS in 2003 and with the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa in 2014, when public health measures ultimately stopped spread and brought both outbreaks to an end. While there are important differences among the viruses and the contexts, this comparison underscores the critical need to improve our global public health infrastructure and surveillance systems to monitor for and help respond to the inevitable next potential pandemic virus.

Since viruses spread where there are enough susceptible individuals and enough contact among them to sustain spread, it’s hard to anticipate what the timeline will be for the expected shift of COVID-19 to endemicity. It’s dependent on factors like the strength and duration of immune protection from vaccination and natural infection, our patterns of contact with one another that allow spread, and the transmissibility of the virus. So the patterns will likely differ considerably from what we saw with the other pandemics because of the heterogeneous responses to COVID-19 across the world—with some places engaging in “zero-COVID” policies, others with limited responses, and widely variable vaccine availability and uptake.
