Nickelodeon Producer Dan Schneider Responds to ‘Quiet on Set’ Accusations: ‘I Owe Some People a Strong Apology’

Once heralded as the “Norman Lear of children’s television” by the New York Times, former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider is now scrambling to save his reputation in the wake of the new docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, which explores allegations of child sexual abuse and other forms of misconduct in Hollywood.

Dan Schneider responded to the Investigation Discovery docuseries on Tuesday, saying “I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”

The docuseries alleges he oversaw toxic workplace conditions where young children were present, and he allegedly verbally abused the cast and crews of his shows.

One accuser — a female writer on The Amanda Show — claims Schneider watched pornography on his computer at work and once told her that he would put one of her sketches in the show in return for a massage — a request that he allegedly made of other co-workers.

When asked about the massages, Schneider said, “It was wrong. It was wrong that I ever put anybody in that position. It was a wrong thing to do. I’d never do it today. I’m embarrassed that I did it then. I apologize to anybody that I ever put in that situation.”

Later he added: “When I watched the show, I could see the hurt in some people’s eyes and it made me feel awful and regretful and sorry. I wish I could go back, especially to those earlier years of my career, and bring the growth and the experience that I have now and just do a better job and never, ever feel like it was okay to be an asshole to anyone, ever.”

As one of Nickelodeon’s top producers, Schneider oversaw several hit shows including iCarly, The Amanda Show, and Drake & Josh.

Coolio, the ’90s rapper who lit up the music charts with hits like “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “Fantastic Voyage,” has died, his friend and manager Jarez Posey, told CNN. He was 59.

Posey said Coolio died Wednesday afternoon.

Details on the circumstances were not immediately available.

When contacted by CNN, Capt. Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that firefighters and paramedics responded to a call on the 2900 block of South Chesapeake Ave. at 4 p.m. local time for reports of a medical emergency. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive male and performed “resuscitation efforts for approximately 45 minutes.”

The patient “was determined dead just before 5:00 p.m.,” Scott said.

An autopsy performed on Coolio Thursday did not reveal the cause or manner of Coolio’s death and further investigation will be conducted, according to case information from the county coroner..

Paul Ryan was first elected to the House in 1998 from the state of Wisconsin.

On August 11, 2012, the Romney campaign announced Ryan as its choice for Vice President (Mitt Romney, that should tell you something right there).

In August 2012, the Associated Press published a story saying that while the Tea Party movement had wanted a nominee other than Romney, it had gotten "one of its ideological heroes" in the vice presidential slot. According to the article, Ryan supports the Tea Party's belief in "individual rights, distrust of big government and an allegorical embrace of the Founding Fathers".

In 2012, Elise Stefanik served as Director of Vice Presidential Debate Prep to Paul Ryan.

According to a statistical-historical analysis conducted by Nate Silver, "Ryan is the most conservative Republican member of Congress to be picked for the vice-presidential slot since at least 1900" and "is also more conservative than any Democratic nominee [for vice president who previously served in the Congress] was liberal, meaning that he is the furthest from the center" of any vice presidential candidate chosen from Congress since the turn of the 20th century.

On October 29, 2015, Ryan was elected Speaker, receiving 236 votes, an absolute majority of the 435-member chamber. Democrat Nancy Pelosi received 184 votes, with 12 more going to others.

After Donald Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee in the 2016 presidential election on May 4, 2016, Ryan was hesitant to endorse him, stating on May 5 that he was "not ready". Ryan and Trump met in private on May 12, releasing a joint statement afterward, acknowledging their differences but stating "we recognize that there are also many important areas of common ground."

On June 2, Ryan announced his support for Trump in an op-ed in The Janesville Gazette.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Ryan suggested that candidate Trump should release his tax returns.

Two months after the 2016 elections, Ryan was re-elected Speaker of the House on January 3, 2017, the opening day of the 115th Congress.

An article in The Washington Post described Ryan's relationship with President Trump as "friendly, if occasionally uneasy," adding that "Ryan did little to check the president or encourage oversight of his administration."

On April 11, 2018, Ryan announced that he would not run for re-election in November, saying, "I like to think I've done my part, my little part in history to set us on a better course." In response, Trump tweeted, "Speaker Paul Ryan is a truly good man, and while he will not be seeking re-election, he will leave a legacy of achievement that nobody can question."

The article was speaking of Power players like Kathy Hochul; Lee Zeldin; Elise Stefanik; current House leader, Mike Johnson; and the former House speaker, Kevin McCarthy who joined Brandon at a fundraiser and press conference in August 2023.

Bob Woodward of the Washington Post has published on his website the following statement:

“The media today probably does not dig deeply enough or spend sufficient time on stories. The best way to ensure that sources will be open and honest is to treat them fairly.”

This quote is also the opening statement in the lawsuit filed yesterday by President Donald J. Trump against the journalist and others that alleges they unlawfully profited by selling audio of President Trump obtained during interviews to be used solely for Woodward’s book, Rage.

Yesterday, the Gateway Pundit reported on this lawsuit regarding the year-long interview process and the use of protected tapes and recordings without any accounting to President Trump.

Back in September of 2020, The Gateway Pundit also reported that President Trump was convinced to grant Woodward the interview by Sen. Lindsey Graham. Ironically, Senator Graham strangely appeared with President Trump during a rally in South Carolina on Saturday, just two days before the lawsuit against Woodward was filed.

JOHN BARNETT - BOEING PROBLEMS

In 2019, John Barnett, a former quality control manager at Boeing, spoke out about the company's manufacturing practices. He claimed that Boeing's push to increase production of its 787 Dreamliner led to a decline in quality and safety standards. According to Barnett, workers were pressured to ignore potential defects and problems, which could have serious implications for the safety of passengers.

Barnett's concerns were echoed by other former employees and whistleblowers, who also raised questions about the company's commitment to safety. In response to these allegations, Boeing maintained that its manufacturing processes were safe and met all regulatory requirements.

In the days before his death, Barnett had been giving evidence in a whistleblower lawsuit against the company. Florida Human-Trafficking Sting Leads To 228 Arrests, 13 Potential Victims Rescued

At a March 5 press conference, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced the bust of a human trafficking operation on the west side of the county in Lakeland that led to 228 arrests and the rescue of 13 potential victims. The Polk County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) was assisted by police departments in Lakeland, Haines City, Davenport, Auburndale, Lake Hamilton, and the Winterhaven Fire and Rescue.

According to a March 5 press release, the “eight-day-long undercover human trafficking operation” began on Feb. 22 and targeted suspects “involved in illegal acts related to soliciting prostitutes, offering to commit prostitution, or aiding and abetting prostitutes.

The 228 arrests consisted of “66 prostitutes, 50 Johns, and 12 others,” Sheriff Judd said.

“This time we identified 13 potential victims of human trafficking,” he added, saying his department has identified “58 potential victims of human trafficking in one year” through these operations.

The significance, he said, was that this is “the most ever” they have been able to identify.

Sheriff Judd also noted that 48 of those arrested were from Polk County, saying they “should know better.”

“We talk about this,” he explained. “We don’t hide it, and if you don’t know about it you obviously live under a rock. So, you’ve had to learn the hard way.” For the rest, he offered a warning.

“This is not the last operation,” he advised. “We‘ll have more, and we’ll give you the opportunity to be arrested if you’re stupid enough to show up. That’s a guarantee.”

Of those arrested, 42 are married. One was a commercial pilot. There were members of the Air Force, sports coaches, law enforcement officers, and people in the medical profession. Some were teachers.

Two minors were arrested. “They came down to rob us,” Sheriff Judd said, adding that they came armed with a BB gun that looked like a real gun.

“That could have gone really bad for them,” he said.

A total of 17 firearms were confiscated from 15 different suspects and 44 had possession of narcotics.
